The coloring page is divided into five sections, each representing a different Russian folk tale. The rightmost panel is "The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish", with a fisherman in a boat surrounded by sea creatures. The next panel is "The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Knights" and depicts a princess, standing in a forest, as seven knights approach from the background. The next panel is "The Firebird" and shows the legendary creature perched atop a tree, surrounded by roses and other foliage. The fourth panel is "The Snow Maiden", and the image depicts a little snow girl, smiling while sheltered by a fur-lined hood. Lastly, "The Twelve Months" is depicted with twelve smaller figures, each one adorned in a different color and representing one of the twelve months. To fully capture the vivid and whimsical nature of these folk tales, I would choose to use bright, bold colors to show the details of each panel. For the "The Firebird" panel I would use vibrant oranges and warm yellows to bring out the bird's wings. Wherever there is foliage, I would use a variety of greens. For the princess, I would use a pink with a hint of glitter to create a magical look. To bring life to the "The Twelve Months" panel, I would use a pastel rainbow palette. And for the "The Snow Maiden" I would use soft blues, purples, and whites to bring out the softness of the snow.
